Director of the Central Library and Documentation Centre Visits Russian Academica

Director of ATU Central Library and Documentation Centre delivered speeches and held workshops on the subject of digital libraries in Russian academic centres.
Dr Seyed Mehdi Taheri, Director of ATU Central Library and Documentation Centre and a faculty member at ATU's Department of Knowledge and Information Science, was invited by the Cultural Attaché of the Iranian Embassy in Moscow and traveled to Russia from 2 to 12 November 2016 to design and establish the Iranian and Islamic Studies Digital Library in Moscow. During his visit, he shared his experiences in this field with his Russian guests through workshops and seminars.
The National Library of Russia and Russian State University for the Humanities (RSUH) were the hosts of ATU's representative for his two lectures on the fast growth of digital libraries in Iran and the integration and convergence of libraries, archives, museums, and the cultural heritage in Iran.
In addition to the numerous technical and policy sessions on the design of a Russian standard digital library in Moscow organized in the Iranian Embassy to Moscow, Dr Taheri held three workshops on "Organizing the Content Objects in Digital Libraries", "Information Management Standards in Digital Libraries" and "Strategies for Searching the Web Search Engines".
In the end of this program, ATU was invited to sign an MoU on cooperation and participate with the Cultural Attaché of Iranian Embassy to Russia, Iranology Foundation, Islamic Studies Centre, Oriental Studies Institute of Russia, and Institute of Scientific Information on Social Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences, INION RAN, in designing the Russian Digital Library of Iranian and Islamic Studies.
