Healthcare Centre (HC)

Allameh Tabataba'i Healthcare Centre (HC) provides healthcare services for its academic members, staff and students in various fields, and monitors environmental health at campuses and dormitories. Moreover, HC schematizes hygienic standard indicators, then monitors compliance with the regulations in the campuses and dormitories. Also, HC undertakes environmental and health projects in order to make a change. HC is available for students, staff and their family members Saturday to Wednesday, 7:30 to 15:00. It is closed on Thursdays and official holidays. The main goals of HC are as follows:

  • Maintaining and promoting healthcare level
  • Providing health services to students, staff & their families
  • Upgrading environmental health at faculties & dormitories
  • Upgrading occupational health at faculties & dormitories
  • Implementing health monitoring at the entrance of students and staff
  • Promoting the health awareness of students & staff
  • Implementation of and cooperation and participation in various projects

Services Offered in HC:

General Practitioner Services (practitioner and midwife):

This centre is available for academic members from Saturday to Wednesday, 8:00 to 15:00. At first, the patient should attune with the receptionist, then s/he will be checked up by the physician. In case of emergency or if a patient needs higher medical care, the patient will be sent to the hospital.

Nursing Services:

Nursing services contain injections, gauze dressings, serum therapy, oxygen therapy, electrocardiogram, blood glucose test & blood pressure control. At first, patients should attune with the receptionist; then, s/he can use any kind of nursing services.

Trusted Physician Services:
    The trusted physician has the following duties:
  • Providing announcements and mailing them to faculties
  • Scrutinizing medical reasons of the absence of students at their exams
  • Attending the Absence Committee
  • Scrutinizing staffs' medical permit certificates
  • Considering veterans' certificates and cooperating with Students Welfare Fund
  • Voting when a students wants to drop a semester because of medical reasons
  • Probing and approving health condition of students sports teams
  • Attending the Medical Committee's meetings
Medical Commission:

The Medical Commission has to organize continuous meetings. Head of Healthcare Centre, a Trusted Physician and specialists are the members of this Commission.

    HC provides experts at the following fields. ATU members can set an appointment by calling (+9821) 44737670.
  • Internist: Mondays, 8-12 a.m.
  • Optometrist: Wednesdays 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Dental Services:
  • Dr Shateri: Sundays 8-12 a.m.
  • Ms Saeedi (tooth clean and polish): Sundays and Mondays 8 a.m. - 2 p.m.
  • Dr Nafisi: Mondays 8-12 a.m.
Environmental Health Services:
    HC presents environmental health services in the following fields:
  • Food health
  • Public health
  • Environmental health education
  • Microbiological & chemical health of water
  • Each of them contains various proceedings in order to protect and maintain environmental health of ATU.
Occupational Health Services:
  • Monitoring work environment in order to identify, measure, evaluate & control detrimental factors
  • Providing initial information in the case of an accident
  • Providing solutions in order to prevent a potential accident
  • Distributing personal protective equipment
  • Educating ATU members about safety principles at work
Health Monitoring Plan:

The health monitoring plan has been designed by ATU exerts with the purpose of diagnosing the therapeutic needs of ATU members. Therefore; this aim can be achieved through checking medical and health history of newbie members of ATU. This plan contains filing a medical record for everyone, comprehensive medical examination, practising optometry and analysing information in order to diagnose potential disease respectively.
