ATU's Closed Days

An academic year in Allameh Tabataba'i University (ATU) includes two terms (semesters). The First Term, or the Autumn Term, generally begins in the second week of September and last until the end of December. Second Term, or the Spring Term, generally starts in the beginning of February and ends in early June. As the First Term Exams usually start in early January and last for two weeks, no classes are held in the last two weeks of January and students have time to refresh.

Moreover, the Second Term in ATU includes a two-week holiday on the occasion of the Iranian New Year, known as The Nowruz (literally meaning the "new day"). The other main holiday in Iranian universities, including ATU, is the summer holiday, starting in mid-June and ending with the start of the First Term in the second week of September.
